Employment Terms Agreement / Placement Fee Agreement

This Agreement must be signed by all employees and returned to PRN, Inc.

When accepting a shift through PRN you are to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to the start time of your shift.  If you arrive on duty late you will not be paid for staying beyond your scheduled shift in order to make up the time.  It is required that you take a 30 minute lunch/ dinner break during an 8 or 12 hour shift as this is mandated by the hospitals and by Federal Labor Laws therefore you will not be paid for a no break as PRN is not compensated by the facilities.  It is your responsibility to notify your charge nurse that you need to take your break.

Although the Maryland Board of Nursing extends a 30 day grace period on nursing license renewals PRN does not honor this grace period as the hospitals we contract with do not acknowledge a grace period.  If you have not renewed your license by the 28th of your birth month you will not be issued any paychecks from PRN or scheduled any shifts until we have received your renewed nursing license.

PRN requires that each nurse updates annually PPD, JCAHO / OSHA competencies and skills check list.   Additionally you are required to update your CPR/ ACLS every 2 years or as stated otherwise on you card.

Our payroll department has been issuing paychecks from faxed time-slips and will continue to do so for those who are sending in their original time slips after completing their shifts.  If you are not sending in your original slips you will no longer be eligible for payroll from fax copy, you will have to wait until PRN receives your time slip in the mail or bring them into the office.  PRN needs the original for invoicing purposes.

PRN is not to be used as a placement service.  In the event you would like to accept a direct position with any hospital / facility / private client in which PRN has placed you, it is required that you give 60 days written notice to PRN of your intent to do so.  Upon receipt of your 60 day notice you may continue to work at said facility for the next 60 days, at that point you may go on staff without any financial penalty.  Failure to give proper written notification will result in a financial penalty to you of $2,500.00.
